Die
Stamping
Diestamped
business, promotional and advertising gifts have been around
for a long time and most offices will have desk diaries, sales
folders, travel atlases, wallets, notecases and cheque book
holders that have been die stamped.
The products may be made of a
variety of materials including plastic, leather, PU (simulated
leather) and PVC .
Die
stamping, a completely dry process, often causes some confusion
but today it's not just a case of foil blocking in
gold.
The world
is your oyster so far as colour is concerned but it is not yet
possible to match Pantone colours.
The process is often referred to
as gold blocking, foil blocking or hot stamping. However, one
of the more stylish uses of this method is blind
embossing...simply processed without the coloured foil to
produce a quite remarkable up-market finish.
Leather
promotional coasters are a prime example of die stamped
business, promotional and advertising gifts...for although
restricted to a single colour, or no colour as blind embossed,
a leather advertising coaster can be a really smart up-market
desktop promotion.
Blind embossed
business, promotional and advertising
gifts
Blind
embossing works extremely well on high quality desk diaries and
sales folders because the advertising message or logo is not
pronounced and, therefore, does not convert the product into a
sandwich board as is sometimes the case with ill-conceived
garish personalizaing.
If you are buying business gifts
it will be helpful if you know about digital printing, die
stamping, embroidery, engraving, etching, off-set ltho, tampo
(pad printing), screen printing, sublimation printing, transfer
printing and weaving.
