Golf Gifts

One of the most important areas of networking for many executives is the company golf day because it’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know customers and prospects. In fact it’s so good that some organisations run a series of golf days throughout the year.

But what promotional gifts to use, is the question, on this most significant day? Well, here are just a few ideas, although not necessarily exhaustive, ranging from the inexpensive to the corporate executive items used as advertising, business and promotional gifts for the golfer.

Quality golf balls

Seeing it’s a golf day it might not be a bad idea to present some golf balls to get the day moving. You might consider, in order of price, Wilson Ultra, Dunlop DDH, Callaway Warbird, Titleist PTS, Titleist NXT Tour or, if you really want to push the boat out, Titleist PRO VI. All these are available in white or yellow and with a print area of 25mm diameter in full colour and two print positions. Golf balls are priced individually but packed in sleeves of 3.

Additionally you can have all kinds of prestige packing and often linked with other golf products. One of the favourite golf day promotional gifts is a flocked box containing 3 quality golf balls, 5 wooden tees, 2 ball markers, a pitchfork and a pencil. The variations  on this theme seem to be endless with some kits having one or two golf balls and different other accessories.

Accessory golf packs

Other accessory golf packs often used feature 3 or 4 wooden tees, a ball marker and a pitchfork or you could just go for a printed tin of 50 personalized tees.Something a bit different is Victorinox golf tool made by the Swiss Army people.

This handy tool has 10 features including pitchmark repair tool, ball marker, tee punch, blade & groove cleaner, scissors and the inevitable bottle opener.

Golf bags

Another useful item is a shoe bag and these are available at all price levels covering a cheap PVC zipped effort to a real hide job.

Some shoe bags are quite basic abut others are large capacity with an additional pocket and, importantly, a large print area for a logo and sales message.

Talking bags Callaway produce a series specially for the golfer including a duffel bag, toiletry case, shoe bag and even a laptop brief case...but forgetting the heavyweight deluxe golf bag with room for an embroidered logo in gull colour; a quite handsome business gift.

Golf umbrellas

Almost all golf days feature that most ubiquitousadvertising, business and promotional gift for the golfer…the golf umbrella. But here’s one plea, make it a quality product for the golf course is no place for an inferior golf umbrella. Generally aim for a full sized product and then all you have to decide on is the size of your advertisement. Are you going to use a screen printed logo which is sometimes a bit limited in size of go for full color sublimated print. However, bear in mind that print costs can sometimes get out of hand as most catalogues quote an umbrella with one color printed on one panel in one position. If you want to add extra prints on all eight panels then you’ll quickly bust the budget.

Telescopic golf umbrella

Among the  advertising, business and promotional gifts for the golfer there's the usual preponderence of score  cards, shirts, towels and other accoutrements but one I particularly like for its novelty value alone is the McForsum telescopic umbrella to protect and keep golf clubs clean and dry.

It folds away and sits in the golf bag when not in use but, ideally, for company golf days you can personalise the panels. As I said at the beginning a company golf day is a great opportunity for networking so capitalise on the equipment used asadvertising, business and promotional gifts for the golfer.
